# Cost Center

Cost centers are used to allocate indirect expenses to various organizational activities based on usage in relevant areas, allowing for differentiated management of costs incurred by the organization. This enables refined accounting and management of payroll costs.

Cost allocation refers to distributing total costs according to certain rules (such as department, project, team, etc.).

Cost details display the composition of each specific cost. Cost management includes \[Cost Centers, Cost Allocation, Cost Details].

**Process:**

1. Set up cost centers.
2. Maintain cost allocation ratios.
3. Define labor cost statistical rules.
4. View cost details and summaries.

**Operational Steps:**\
First, add cost centers (for example, multiple projects can establish multiple cost centers), then import cost details based on the payroll sheet, and finally allocate costs to employees' salaries according to the ratios, determining how much each employee's salary contributes to different cost centers.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.yoov.com/yoov-work/cost-center.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
